Faculty and Staff | Mrs. Johnston

Mrs.Johnston was born in Cedar City, Utah to a family of 5 children.Mrs.Johnston was the second youngest and probably the second most spoiled. Mrs.Johnston was involved in music programs from as early as 4th grade. Mrs.Johnston played the piano until the 9th grade and then switched to the bassoon. Mrs.Johnston graduated from Cedar High School and went to SUU on a music and academic scholarships. After completing a mission to British Columbia, Mrs.Johnston finished college and took a teaching job in Fillmore, Utah. Mrs.Johnston was the only single person under the age of 75 there, so after one year Mrs.Johnston took a teaching job teaching at Dixie High School and finished a masters degree. Mrs.Johnston taught the bands at DHS for six years, and then taught choir, orchestra, guitar, and social studies at Dixie Middle School. Mrs.Johnston got married while at DMS and have two children ages 12 & 14. Mrs.Johnston came to Fossil Ridge when the school opened and has loved it here. Mrs.Johnston hopes to retire and open a taco & donut stand at Panguitch Lake.
