Faculty and Staff | Mr. Savage
Mr. Savage, a country boy, grew up on a cattle ranch in a small Southern Utah town. The town had more horses and dogs than People. His nearest neighbors lived about a half-mile away as the crow flies. He attended a two-room elementary school where one teacher taught grades K-3 in one room and another teacher taught 4-6 in the second room. A total of about 25-30 students were enrolled. Mr. Savage spent his youth hunting, fishing, riding horses (often more than his keister wanted to at times), farming, ranching, cutting and splitting wood, and walking to and from school ... uphill ... in the snow ... both ways (OK, so that part is a slight exaggeration). All in all, Mr. Savage lived a mostly charmed, yet exhausting, childhood!
