Mrs. Hawkins

Mrs. Hawkins first name is Marilyn. She was born and raised in southern California when orange groves were across the street, pine trees grew in the school playground and walnut trees, vineyards and vegetable gardens flourished in her backyard along with pigeons, chickens,and turkeys. She always loved music and was fortunate to get piano lessons when she was five years old. She played piano in the school orchestras until she taught piano when she started college. Mrs. Hawkins finally got to learn violin when she went to the University of Utah where she graduated in Music Education. Her fisrt teaching position was on Pocatello, Idaho. There, she got married and had three children. After ten years, we moved to St. George. Shortly, she became a single parent and began building the string orchestra program in the schools. She was happy to remarry in 2004 and moved to Toquerville. In addition to music, she also loves animals, especially horses and cats. She also loves reading historical nivels, camping, tennis, ping pong, hiking, biking, and riding horses.
