Michael Winslow was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He moved around for a few years and ended up in Cedar City at age seven. He spent the rest of his school years in Cedar City, graduating from Cedar City High School in 1998. Michael was the Cedar
High Speech and Drama Sterling Scholar for 1998. Michael began piano lessons at age eight, then he began playing the trombone in the sixth grade. The trombone has been his instrument of choice since then. Michael served a LDS mission in Southern California and then attended Southern Utah University in Cedar City. While attending SUU, Michael met the love of his life, Haley. They were married in March of 2002. Michael and Hayley graduated the same year from SUU, the class of 2004. Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Music Education. Michael and Hayley have two children: Tyson is three and Julianna is 21 months old. Michael loves teaching music at Fossil Ridge! The students are amazing and the fellow teachers are so supportive. Fossil Ridge is an amazing place and Michael feels privileged to be able to be a part of the learning environment at Fossil Ridge Intermediate School!
